The Carbon County Bureau for the Aging will now be called the Carbon County Area Agency on Aging, the county commissioners announced yesterday in order to comply with state and federal regulations.
The director of the bureau will now be called “Aging Director.” There will also be an “Assistant Area Agency on Aging director.” Susan Rego of Lansford was appointed to the post.
Under the new change, the director, Leonard Marzen of Jim Thorpe, will receive a $1,500 salary increase. He earned $8,000 with the bureau of the aging and will earn $9,500 as aging director.
The salary of Rego was set at $8,000.
