A look back: Nov. 13, 1968
Members of the Coaldale Borough Council last night during its regular monthly session to affix the name of “Ridge Terrace” to the community’s low-rent housing development located in the eastern sector of the town.
The name was recommended to the board by Chief of Police John Starry.
Mayor Joseph E. Sharpe’s suggestions were also heard, and they included Buck Mountain Terrace, Anthracite Court Plaza and Anthracite Gardens. However, in making the final decision, the council members felt the selected name was appropriate since the project is located on either side of Ridge Street.
