A look back: Nov. 26, 1967

His Excellency, the Most Rev. Joseph McShea, D.D., Bishop of Allentown, dedicated the new $85,000 rectory of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Nesquehoning, after celebrating a low recited Pontifical Mass in the church.

An estimated 500 members of the congregation and visitors attended the ceremony.

The Rt. Rev. Monsignor Agnello Angelini, pastor, welcomed the attendants. In attendance were Monsignor Joseph Baran, dean of the Carbon County Catholic clergy and rector at St. Michael’s Church, Lansford, and Monsignor J. Francis Haley, rector at St. Joseph’s Church, Summit Hill.

Mrs. Joseph P. Mantz directed the choir and Eugene Rutch was the lector during the Mass.
