A look back: Nov. 28, 1986
The selection committee for the Carbon/Tamaqua Unit of the American Cancer Society’s 1987 Nurse of Hope program named Lou Ann Burns, LPN., to represent the unit when she speaks to clubs, schools, industry and businesses.
A resident of New Ringgold R.2, she is employed at the Gnaden Huetten Convalescent Home, Lehighton, and is a student at the Lehigh County Community College.
The first runner-up was Kathy L. Moser, RN, of Tamaqua, while Pamela L. Hoats, Lehighton, was named second runner-up. They were congratulated by 1986 Nurse of Hope Kathy Trimmel, RN, of Andreas, who was commended for her dedication to the program.
