A look back: Nov. 7, 1962

After nine years in Tamaqua and three expansions, Tobias, the ladies’ and children’s fashion store, has moved from its old location to the former Woolworth Building at 16 W. Broad St.

Extensive renovations have made available twice the selling space for more comfortable shopping and easier visual display of fashions. It is ingeniously arranged in a department store manner, with the added convenience that everything is contained on one floor.

The new Tobias store will be managed by Agnes Yorke, assisted by Margaret Gallagher, Hazel Arthur, Florence Linkevich, Lillian Betz, Helen Payne and Ethel Lee Bittner.
