A look back: November 17, 1958
Employees of the Rosenau Brothers plant in Lansford subscribed for over $25,000 in cash gifts and bonds in the SOS drive in a plant solicitation made today. This total represents the largest amount pledged thus far by regional factory workers to the valley’s industrial drive.
SOS officials emphasized the $25,000 is not the total figure for the Rosenau dress plant. Solicitations were still being made in the factory as the Evening Record went to press. Bert Silver, SOS drive chairman, said the response to solicitors at the plant was “tremendous,” saying the local women employed there realize the great need for the SOS drive. He commended Agnes Nichols, manager, for helping to make the solicitation a success.
