A check for $75,000 will be presented to the Lansford-Coaldale Joint Water Authority by the Pennsylvania Department of Commerce in the authority’s office on Friday. Harry Vadyak of Lansford, authority chairman, said the money will be used to help cover the cost of the authority’s $1,242,000 improvement project undertaken in Lansford, Coaldale and Hauto.
Attending the meeting will be Sen. Joseph Gurzenda, House members Thomas McCall and William Klingaman, and technical assistance director for Carbon County, Fritz Spokas.
Vadyak said much progress has been made on the new pipeline being brought over the Hauto Mountain from the authority’s main supplies in the Hauto Vallety.
