A look back: Oct. 2, 1979

Joyce Lynn of Summit Hill, owner and operator of the Coffee Shop Restaurant in that community for the past five years, will open a second Coffee Shop in Lansford shortly.

The new restaurant, which Lynn said will offer “the only 20-cent cup of coffee around,” will be located to the west side of the Panther Valley High School Stadium, near the entrance to the Panther Valley Recreation Center on West Patterson Street. Presently, an establishment specializing in ice cream and dairy products occupies the building.

Before purchasing the Coffee Shop in Summit Hill, Lynn operated Tommy’s Restaurant in Lehighton for seven years.
