Employment in Carbon County manufacturing industries increased during 1962 to a total workforce of 9,123, a state department Internal Affairs survey of the county showed today. The number of manufacturing plants in the county also increased, inching upward two to a total of 41.
Of the total manufacturing work force in the county, 4,168 were men and 4,955 women.
A year earlier, the county had 3,907 men and 4,248 women employed. Of the 9,123 employees, 8,188 were classified as “production and related” workers, with 3,464 male employees and 4,724 female workers.
