A look back: Sept. 29, 1961

Election of officers highlighted a meeting of the Lehighton Amvets Auxiliary held last evening in the Amvets home. Anne Williams was elected president, succeeding Beatrice Long, who served during the past several years as head of the organization and has now assumed the duties of senior vice president.

Elected to serve with Williams and Long are Marian Christian, junior vice president; Dorothy Deibert, treasurer; Dorothy Hoffner, chaplain; Grace Conarty, historian and public relations officer; Bessie Roth, sergeant-at-arms; Ella Snyder, parliamentarian; and Roberta Young, liaison officer.
