A look back: Sept. 5, 1958

The Schuylkill County Girl Scout Council will hold its annual fund campaign this month. Goal of the countywide drive is $30,000. The general theme is “You Can Count On Her, Can She Count On You?”

Co-chairmen of the Coaldale drive are attorney Paris DeSantis and Randolph B. Harvey, supervising principal of the Coaldale School District.

The special gifts portion of the drive will be held from Sept. 8 to the 15th while the house-to-house canvass will take place from Sept. 15-20.

The Schuylkill Girl Scout Council, now in its ninth year, has a registration of 2,524 girls, plus 531 adults. There are 935 Brownies, 1,333 intermediates and 256 seniors.
