LOWER TOWAMENSING TOWNSHIP

Lower Towamensing Township supervisors took the following action on Tuesday:

• On a 2-1 vote, with board Chairman Brent Green opposed, agreed to offer community service with restrictions.

• Approved a time extension from Lehigh Asphalt Paving & Construction Co. for the road project until Sept. 30.

• Granted authorization to have Carbon Engineering as the agent to apply for highway occupancy permit.

• Agreed to have Green serve as the township’s representative on the Carbon County Action Committee.

• Agreed to conduct a budget workshop at 4 p.m. Sept. 30.

• Agreed to have all road crew employees attend the flagger training on Sept. 23 at the Eldred Township Municipal Building.

• Denied a garbage exemption to John Lundy.
