An arrest had been made in the robbery of a Schuylkill County store that occurred late last year.

State police at Frackville said Alec Jackson, 22, of Morea, Mahanoy Township, has been charged in the armed robbery of the Brown Bag Station, located a 832 Barnesville Drive (Route 54), in Ryan Township, which occurred on Dec. 27.

Troopers said at the time a suspect entered the store at 6:31 p.m. and brandished a large kitchen knife and demanded money from the female attendant. She opened the register and the suspect took the drawer from the register, which contained about $200.

The investigation of the robbery led to the arrest of Jackson, troopers said. He was arraigned before District Judge Christina Hale, of Frackville, on charges of robbery, a felony; and misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, simple assault, theft, recklessly endangering another person and criminal mischief. He was also charged with a summary count of harassment.

Jackson was committed to the county prison in Pottsville after he failed to post $50,000 straight cash bail.
