Mahoning Township police report on recent incidents
Mahoning Township police have reported on the following incidents:
• Police are looking for Trevor Hunsicker, 30, of Lehighton. Hunsicker has been identified as a suspect in an Oct. 23 retail theft (felony) at Giant on Route 443 in Mahoning Township. • On Nov. 21 an overnight theft of copper was reported outside the Packer Ridge Academy on Route 209. An outdoor air conditioner unit was cut into pieces. Tip submissions can be made via the department’s Facebook page or by phone. Reference case number 773-2018.
• David Derby Jr., 27, of Summit Hill has been charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and altered forged counterfeit documents and plates (misdemeanors); windshield obstructions and wipers, and operation of vehicle without official certificate of inspection (summaries). On Nov. 19 at 9:15 p.m., police checked on a man passed out behind the wheel at Tractor Supply on Route 443. Derby was placed in Carbon County Prison on a warrant from Chester Police in Delaware County. Police seized methamphetamine, a Smith and Wesson 9 mm gun, a fraudulent inspection, and an open container of Miller High Life.
