Maine hunter dies of heart attack in Penn Forest woods
A hunter from Maine died of a heart attack in the woods Saturday near the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Carbon County Coroner Bob Miller said the 61-year-old man, whose name has not been released at this time, was with a group of hunters. When he didn’t meet them at the designated time, they called authorities.
The hunter was located in Penn Forest Township, three-quarters of a mile from mile marker 82.4 of the turnpike.
Franklin Township Fire Department and State Police at Lehighton were on scene.
