Mako to host Fire/EMS Roundtable in Walnutport
Fire and Emergency Medical Service personnel may want to circle Thursday on their calendars.
That’s when state Rep. Zach Mako will host a Fire/EMS Roundtable at the Diamond Fire Company in Walnutport.
Co-hosted by the Diamond Fire Company and Mission BBQ, the event will be held from 7-9 p.m. at Diamond Fire Company. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for light refreshments.
Those expected to participate in the roundtable include Bruce Trego, Pennsylvania fire commissioner; Dylan Ferguson, director of the Bureau of Emergency Services at the Pennsylvania Department of Health; Sean Harris, research analyst with the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee; and John Kloss, executive director of the Eastern Pennsylvania EMS Council.
“We are fortunate to work with John Kloss in offering this roundtable to other local responders as well,” Mako said. “We had more than 60 responders RSVP for this roundtable.”
In addition to local fire companies and EMS, Mako said there will be additional fire/EMS personnel from Franklin Township, Pocono Mountain EMS, Bethlehem, and Milford, New Jersey who requested to attend.
State laws, programs and opportunities specifically affecting firefighters and emergency medical services personnel will be discussed.
