Man accused of the indecent assault of young girl
A Lansford man is charged with indecent assault of a 6-year-old girl.
According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Amie Barclay of the Mahoning Township Police Department:
On May 31, officer James Danner of the Mahoning Township Police Department took a complaint of a possible sexual assault of a 6-year-old girl.
The victim’s mother said Travis Williams, 29, of the 300 block of West Ridge Street, allowed the girl to touch his “front private part.”
The girl was interviewed at the Children’s Advocacy Center in Scranton on June 5.
Barclay requested that Williams respond to the township police station for an interview, where he was informed about accusations.
He denied all allegations, and agreed to provide a written statement.
Williams said the victim would have seen him naked when he had a “bathroom emergency” while the victim was already in the bathroom.
He denied ever being naked with the girl in the living room as she said.
Williams was arraigned and placed in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $75,000 bail.
Williams is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing at 4:15 p.m. July 18 before District Judge Eric Schrantz of Jim Thorpe.
