A Carbon County man admitted overdosing on illegal substances while his young daughter was in the residence.

Tyler Scott Grohotolski, 28, of Palmerton, pleaded guilty before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II to one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arrested on Aug. 20 when Palmerton police responded to his residence on Mauch Chunk Road for a report of an overdose victim. On scene, officers found Grohotolski on the kitchen floor of the residence in a fetal position, sweating profusely indicating signs of a drug overdose.

Found in the living room of the home on a couch was Grohotolski’s 3-year-old daughter. There were two other adults in the home, who police said were the ones to call the communications center for help.

Nanovic noted that at the time of the incident Grohotolski was on parole. He is currently an inmate in the county prison on a parole violation.

Nanovic deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation report.
