A man has been charged with multiple counts, including attempted rape, following an incident at a bus station in Monroe County.

State police at Stroudsburg said the incident occurred on Friday at 1:50 p.m. at the Martz Bus Station, located at 1082 Foxtown Hill Road, in Delaware Water Gap.

Troopers said they were dispatched to the bus station for a report of sexual assault. On scene troopers said the suspect was identified as Hector Luis Colon, 57, no address given. Troopers said the victim, a 22-year-old woman, told them Colon followed her to her vehicle. At the vehicle Colon lifted up her dress and grabbed her buttocks. The victim said she screamed for help, however, Colon continued to touch her breasts and shoulders. A witness said Colon had his pants zipper down during the incident.

When troopers questioned Colon, he stated his intention was to have sex with the woman.

He was taken into custody and charged with attempted rape, attempted kidnapping, attempted unlawful restraint, attempted aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault and harassment.

Records indicate Colon is currently an inmate in the county prison in Snydersville.
