Man charged with drug possession
A Nesquehoning man has been charged with drug possession during a drug bust Friday at his home.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Nesquehoning Borough Police Chief Sean Smith:
Officers from the Carbon County Drug Task Force, Attorney General’s Office and Nesquehoning Police Department executed a search warrant that Smith filed for a residence in the 300 block of West Railroad Street.
Multiple items were seized during the search of the home of Joshua Beury, 38, including scales, baggies, suspected marijuana prepackaged for resale, crystal methamphetamine, and other electronic devices used for the sale of narcotics from his residence for some time.
Nesquehoning officer Tim Wuttke field tested the suspected marijuana and the white, rock like substance. The green vegetable matter tested positive for marijuana, while the clear rocklike substance tested positive for methamphetamine.
Beury faces charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was arraigned by District Judge Casimir T. Kosciolek of Lansford, and is currently incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail, straight.
Smith said the investigation is ongoing.
