Man charged with harassment

Published March 29. 2019 08:42AM

A Frackville man has been charged with harassment by communication by Tamaqua police after making repeated phone calls to a former girlfriend.

The victim contacted police at 3:49 p.m. on Feb. 27, saying that Brian Morit, 36, kept calling her, despite her telling him to stop. At one point he called 32 times within a 6-minute time span.

Morit admitted making the calls telling the officer he needed to speak to his ex about a civil matter. He was told to stop making the calls and provided with information on how to proceed with the matter.

Instead, Morit continued to call resulting in charges being filed.
