A Walnutport man has been charged with terrorist threats following a domestic dispute with his girlfriend.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Jonathan Roth of the Lehigh Township Police Department:

At 12:48 p.m. June 27, Northampton County Radio dispatched Lehigh Township Police to the 4100 block of Butternut Drive in Walnutport for the report of a domestic.

Upon arrival, Sgt. John Henry and Roth contacted the victim, who opened the door and said she needed help.

The woman said there was an altercation with her boyfriend, Phillip Cameron, 37, who had left in a vehicle.

She told police said Cameron was out all night and she was begging him to come home.

Cameron came home and she disconnected the Internet, and she asked him to come and talk.

She said Cameron became angry and threw a cup of orange juice at her, and was picking things up and throwing them.

The woman said Cameron wanted her phone and she wouldn’t give it to him.

She said she screamed for her kids, and they hid behind the bar.

The woman said Cameron grabbed scissors and tried to cut blankets and couldn’t, at which time he grabbed a knife and began yelling at her and the kids.

She said Cameron started to swing the knife at her, yelling at her, and that he stabbed the bed.

The woman said she told her kids to call the police, and Cameron told her if she calls the police, “It’ll be the last thing she does.”

The woman said Cameron took a container of maple syrup and dumped it all over the bed.

Cameron faces charges on three counts each of aggravated assault, terroristic threats — domestic, simple assault — domestic; and harassment; two charges of endangering welfare of children; and one count each of recklessly endangering another person and possessing instrument of crime with intent.

He is currently incarcerated in the Northampton County Prison in lieu of $30,000 bail, and is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing July 16 before District Judge Robert A. Hawke of Walnutport.
