Man injured during industrial accident at Silberline

A New Jersey man was life flighted following an industrial accident Wednesday morning at Silberline in Rush Township.
Township police were called to Silberline just after 9:30 a.m. for a traumatic injury sustained by the victim, Joseph Kupper.
According to radio transmissions, Kupper, a delivery truck driver, sustained severe injuries to his upper extremity after he got his arm caught in a mechanism.
Assisting at the scene were Hometown Fire Company, Citizen’s Fire Company of Tamaqua, McAdoo Fire Company, Tamaqua and Lehighton EMS, Tamaqua Rescue Squad and American Hose Fire Company.
Silberline is a manufacturer of pigments for automotive, graphic arts and plastics sectors.
Products include vacuum metalized pigments, degradation resistant and aluminum pigments.
Applications include aqueous coatings, solvent and water-based liquid inks, UV and screen inks.
