Man led police on chase in Kidder
A Luzerne County man led police on a high-speed chase Sunday morning in Kidder Township after initially being pulled over for speeding.
State police from Fern Ridge said that at 8:50 a.m. a trooper from state police at Fern Ridge conducted a traffic stop along Interstate 80 on a 2016 silver Jeep Patriot driven by Kenneth Coley, 38, of Wilkes-Barre, for traveling above the speed limit.
During the stop, Coley exited his vehicle and became agitated and began yelling and cursing.
Coley then got back into his vehicle and fled the scene at a high rate of speed, traveling at speeds over 100 mph.
Coley then led troopers on a brief pursuit south of Route 115 where he later stopped.
He got out of the vehicle and police used a Taser to subdue him.
Coley was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, recklessly endangering another person and summary traffic violations.
