I am sorry that man was so naive as to fall for this. Thankfully, we have the rule of law and due process in this country to protect us all from a dictatorial government that might otherwise make similar demands on us. The very kind of rule of law that our President flouts with such impunity. Our democratic institutions are fragile, so thank God we are protected from officeholders demanding bribes and loyalty, at least for the time being...
Two weeks ago I stopped my roommate from being scammed by someone claiming to be from Apple. She has an Iphone and Apple TV. In the middle of entering info into deskshare.com I grabbed the phone from her hands and yelled "I’m praying to a cow right now, asking that you leave me alone. Moooove, b***h!" Her and her elderly brothers bank info is on her Windows Desktop they would have been screwed 6 ways to next Sunday.
I'm all about good deeds. And jokes.
It's sad to know that there are still some people fall victim to these scams. It's our responsibilities to help and protect our family against these scammers. Few days ago, my elderly father received several VMs from this number 213-373-6087 asking him to call back. Luckily he sensed some fishy things are going on and told me about this. I Googled the number and found a report have been filed by someone at https://www.whycall.me/213-373-6087.html since few months ago. We need to always inform our family about how these scammers work.
