Man from New Tripoli injured in crash

Jacob A. Thibault, 31, New Tripoli, sustained minor injuries in a crash at 1:06 p.m. Jan. 24 on Route 222 in Upper Macungie Township.

Township police said Thibault complained of back pain after the incident but refused EMS treatment.

The crash happened when a loaded 2006 Kenworth dump truck, operated by John T. Guldin, 58, of Fleetwood, failed to stop for a tractor trailer driven by Thibault who slowed for a red light at the intersection of Mill Creek Road. Guldin struck the rear of the rig.

Guldin complained of pain in his left hand. He too refused to be treated.

The dump truck received severe disabling damages while the tractor trailer had moderate damages.
