Published June 14. 2019 12:19PM

A Carbon County man pleaded guilty on Monday in the county court to a drug dealing charge.

Devon Michael Herman, 21, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of possession with intent to delivery a controlled substance —marijuana. In exchange for the plea charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia were dropped.

He was arrested on April 2, 2017, when Summit Hill police responded to the Lansford Court housing development for a complaint.

On scene, officers smelled the odor of marijuana coming from an apartment.

A consent search was conducted and 142 grams of marijuana was found, along with other drug-related items including bongs to smoke marijuana.

Herman admitted to police that the drugs belonged to him.

Nanovic asked why he was involved in such drug activity. He answered that he was “young and stupid.”

He said he had sustained a back injury and started to use marijuana for pain relief.

Nanovic placed him on probation for two years and ordered he get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and supply a DNA sample.
