Marian students participate in science competition
Thomas Betterly, Alison Anilosky and Maxwell Schwabe recently attended the Pennsylvania National Junior Academy of Science competition representing Marian Catholic High School at Penn State University, University Park.
Thomas competed in the behavioral psychology category conducting a research experiment and received a first-place award. He also received a scholarship to Penn State University and a plaque for excellence in PJAS performance and a Perseverance Award for participation at the state level for five years.
Alison competed in behavioral psychology and received a first-place award. In addition, she received a plaque for a science talent search and a plaque for Perseverance Award for four years participation in PJAS.
Maxwell placed first in the general biology catalog studying catalase activity comparing organic and nonorganic fruits and vegetables.
Megan Darrough placed first in the behavioral psychology category and also received a Perseverance Award for four years of participation.
