McAdoo Police recently charged four motorists with possession of marijuana after conducting traffic stops.

Terrence Bergeron, 29, of Brooklyn, New York, was stopped at 3 p.m. May 12 for having an expired registration. Officers searched the vehicle, with Bergeron’s consent, and found several small bags containing marijuana and a glass pipe with burned residue.

He was arraigned before Magisterial Judge Stephen Bayer on charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and driving with an expired registration.

Bail was set at $3,000 percentage, which Bergeron was able to post.

Kirvi Coradin, 38, of Hazleton, was stopped at 6:35 p.m. on Feb. 27 for having a faulty muffler and a nonfunctioning brake light. Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana and Coradin admitted smoking marijuana about 30 minutes earlier.

He was taken for blood tests, which were positive. He was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and three traffic offenses.

Two 17-year-old males from Hazleton were charged with possession of marijuana in connection with two separate traffic stops, one on April 2 and the other on April 23. The charges were sent to the juvenile court system.
