McAdoo traffic stops

McAdoo Police released information on several traffic stops made in June:

• Scott Wanamaker, 41, of Weatherly, was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for speeding on South Kennedy Drive at 5:41 a.m. on June 1. A search of the vehicle turned up a scale and a small amount of suspected crystal methamphetamine, which Wanamaker admitted was his.

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Clyde Christian, 59, of Scranton was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop at 7:44 p.m. on June 2. He was stopped for having an inoperative passenger side brake light. When stopped he was initially unable to open the car window, instead activating his turn signals. He was given and failed field sobriety tests, then taken for blood tests.

He was also cited for the traffic violation.

• Jessica Santana, 22, of McAdoo was a passenger in a car stopped for a traffic violation at 12:34 a.m. on June 10. Santana had a large bong connected to a face mask in her possession.

She was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Franklin Cunningham, 18, of Hazleton was stopped at 1:10 a.m. on June 29 for having an invalid license plate. Officers were met with a strong odor of marijuana, which led to a search of the vehicle. Several pieces of vegetable matter were found.

Cunningham was charged with possession of marijuana and for driving an unregistered vehicle.
