A Mifflin County man was killed in a one-vehicle crash Monday morning along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township, Carbon County.

State police at Fern Ridge identified the victim as Gerry L. Mott, 45, of Lewistown.

According to troopers, Mott was driving a 2019 Nissan Frontier eastbound about 5 a.m. when he drove off the roadway and struck a tree. His vehicle then rolled over before coming to rest.

Troopers said Mott was ejected from the vehicle as it was rolling. Mott was pronounced dead at the scene by deputy county coroner John Turcmanovich.

Troopers said it was determined that Mott was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The investigation is continuing, troopers added.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by volunteers from Lake Harmony Fire Company and Rescue Squad.
