Minor injuries in Schuylkill crash

Minor injuries were reported in a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 8:13 p.m. May 6 along Interstate 81 in Kline Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Lenny E. Montero Perez, 23, of Hazleton, was driving a 2007 Honda Civic northbound when he lost control of the vehicle. The Honda went onto the berm and hit a guide rail. After impact the Honda came to rest in the left lane.

Montero Perez and his passenger, Winife Ramo De La Cruz, 23, also of Hazleton, each sustained suspected minor injuries. Montero Perez was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton Campus, by Ryan Township ambulance while De La Cruz was treated at the scene.

Troopers cited Montero Perez for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
