Misericordia University students learn about Kazakhstan during embassy visit
Misericordia University students enrolled in the University Honors Program and Government Law and National Security Club recently participated in a two-day program in Washington, D.C., that included an evening with the ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan and a tour of the nation’s capital.
Misericordia University representatives had dinner with Ambassador Erzhan Kazykhanov and his wife, Danara Kazykhanova, at the Sherman House, which is home to the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United States, and engaged in conversation about world affairs and the relationship between the two countries.
The Government, Law and National Security Program provides students with an integrated knowledge of political science, legal studies and public administration to prepare them to enter government service and the private sector performing public administration and policy jobs related to security, the law and public policy.
Local students participating included Ian Silfies of Palmerton and Alyssa Grieco of Saylorsburg.
