Monarchs post two wins
The Carbon Monarchs posted a pair of wins over the weekend, defeating North Parkland on Saturday and Emmaus on Sunday.

Carbon-Emmaus
Collin Haupt had a big day at the plate as the Carbon Monarchs cruised to a 15-4 victory over Emmaus on Sunday.
Haupt, the game’s winning pitcher, finished 4-for-4 with two triples and a homer. He knocked in three runs and scored four times.
The Monarchs, who scored in every inning but one, also received two hits, two RBIs and a run from Jake Taras, while Aaron Miller added a pair of hits, one a double, a run and an RBI.
Others contributing to the win included Zach Searfoss (one hit, two RBIs), Bradley Buzzard (one hit, two runs, RBI), Daniel Keer (double, two runs), and Noah Snisky (one hit, two runs, RBI).

Carbon-North Parkland
Justin Marykwas turned in a solid pitching effort to help the Carbon Monarchs post a 7-1 win over North Parkland on Saturday.
Marykwas went the distance on the mound, allowing just six hits and an unearned run. He also struck out six and added a hit and two runs scored offensively.
Collin Haupt led the Monarchs at the plate, finishing with a double, homer and six RBIs.
Jake Taras added a hit and two runs scored, while Brad Buzzard chipped in with a hit and a run.
For North Parkland, Will Algard had two hits and a run.

NORCO LEGION
Hellertown-Birches
The Birches jumped out to an early lead, but Hellertown did most of the scoring after that and pulled away for an 11-4 victory on Saturday.
Nick Ciszak had two hits, one a triple, and scored twice for the Birches, who plated three runs in the first inning. Dylan Varano added a double and an RBI, while Evan Bond also contributed two hits and knocked in a run.
For Hellertown, who posted three-run innings in the second and third, Kyle Petsch went 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

VALLEY BABE RUTH
Weatherly-Hazle Twp.
Weatherly’s Steph Yurchak had a pair of hits, but Hazle Township came away with a 5-2 victory on Sunday.
Winning pitcher Marc Lobitz allowed just five hits in his complete-game effort.
Other Weatherly hits came from Gary Buck, Charlie Everdale, and Fernando Polanco.
Drums-Weatherly
Drums tallied three runs in the top of the ninth inning Saturday to pull out a 9-6 victory over Weatherly.
AJ Knepper had three hits, two of them doubles, to pace the Weatherly offense. Brian Keil and Dave Stratchko both contributed a pair of doubles.
Other Weatherly hits came from Steph Yurchak, Gary Buck, and Seth Derr.
For Drums, Dean Ambrose had two doubles and also picked up the pitching win.
LV CONNIE MACK
Pleasant Vy-Jim Thorpe
Jim Thorpe rallied to force extra innings, and then posted a pair of runs in the ninth to pull out a 6-5 win over Pleasant Valley on Saturday.
Colin Binder delivered a two-out RBI single in the seventh to tie the game.
After PV regained the advantage with a run in the top of the ninth, Ian Hubbard’s triple in the bottom half knotted the score again. Hubbard eventually crossed home on an error to bring in the winning run.
Hubbard collected three hits, while Jared Marykwas and Jared Joyce both finished with two. Michael Cadugan-Dougherty tossed four innings in relief to earn the victory.
