Monroe business cited by liquor board

The Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board has cited a Monroe County business.

Pocono Summit Exxon, located off Route 940, Pocono Summit, Tobyhanna Township, was cited on May 15 for an incident on April 30. The citation was issued for the licensed premises not being a bona fide restaurant in that it maintained insufficient seating in violation of the state liquor code.

This charge will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses.

In addition, the judge can imposed a license suspension or revocation based on the severity of the charge brought.
