A Monroe County driver is facing charges following a traffic stop.

Pocono Mountain Regional police officers were on patrol at 1:30 a.m. June 1 along Locust Ridge Road in Tobyhanna Township, when they observed a truck go off the road and nearly strike several trees. The truck then re-entered the road and crossed the double yellow line, then went off the road a second time. A vehicle stop was then made and the driver was identified as Michael J. Granahan, 62, of Pocono Lake.

Officers detected the strong odor of an alcohol beverage. He failed sobriety tests and was transported to the county DUI center for a blood draw. A charge of driving under the influence is pending test results.
