Monroe driver facing DUI count after crash

A Monroe County driver is facing driving under the influence and drug count charges following a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 12:22 a.m. Friday along Upper Seese Hill Road in Canadensis.

Pocono Mountain Regional police responded to crash. When police arrived, it was determined that the driver of a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 truck had fled into a nearby home. Police found the driver, identified as Carey R. Clark Jr., 28, of Tannersville, hiding in a closet.

Clark suffered injuries in the crash and was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital – Pocono, East Stroudsburg. Officers said that Clark showed numerous signs of impairment and there was the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath.

Officers also found a large glass pipe with half-burned marijuana in it in Clark’s pickup as well.

Clark was charged with a second offense DUI, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and other crash-related offenses.
