Monroe woman forges prescriptions
A Monroe County woman is facing charges of forging prescriptions that date back almost two years.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said Georgia Monteleone, 59, of the 700 block of Overview Terrace, Effort, has been charged with four counts each of forgery, insurance fraud and possession of a controlled substance, all felonies, as well as various drug charges, including misdemeanors.
Police said they responded to the CVS Pharmacy in Blakeslee for a report of suspicious prescriptions. Through an investigation it was learned that Monteleone stole a prescription pad from a New Jersey doctor and forged prescriptions on four separate occasions. She picked up these prescriptions at the CVS in Blakeslee.
The police report indicates the incident occurred on May 9, 2017.
