More charges for Blakeslee man

Published September 25. 2018 08:52AM

Police have filed more theft charges against a man accused of operating a chop shop for vehicles and trailers.

David Joseph Frantz Jr., Blakeslee, is now accused in a theft of a trailer which occurred in July.

The trailer was reported stolen on July 23 from a home on Theresa Lane in Chestnuthill Township.

On Aug. 31, Pocono Mountain Regional Police reported they recovered the trailer. Frantz was allegedly involved in a police pursuit. During the chase, Frantz was driving an ATV with the stolen trailer attached.

Frantz was charged via summons. He is currently jailed at Carbon County Correctional Facility on $150,000 bail for a separate incident.

In July, Pocono Mountain Regional accused Frantz of running a chop shop in Blakeslee after they found a large number of power tools, trailers and vehicles in the garage on the property — several of which matched descriptions of vehicles stolen from around the area. That case is pending.
