Motorcycle driver facing charges

Published June 19. 2019 07:45AM

A motorcycle driver is facing charges following a crash that occurred at 3:32 a.m. on Monday along Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East and Fredericks Grove Road in Mahoning Township.

State police at Lehighton said troopers on patrol were following a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja cycle which was traveling at a high rate of speed when it crashed while the driver was attempting a left-hand turn.

The driver, who troopers declined to identify, was suspected of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and refused to submit to a blood draw. He was taken to the Lehighton hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

Troopers said criminal charges will be filed.

You get a one year suspension for refusing a blood test - and this guy will probably ride on a suspended license assuming he had one.
