Move over Rudolph, there’s a new kid in town

  • Empty

Not all lead reindeer have shiny red noses. This one, belonging to Jason and Tina Smith of Jim Thorpe, is white and covered with pink and purple polka dots. The Smiths had a friend who was getting rid of the Santa, sleigh and two standard-issue reindeer, but Tina tried to talk him out of it. Then one day, about 10 years ago, this colorful fellow appeared in their yard overnight. To this day, no one has admitted to painting the reindeer or leaving it there, although Tina has her suspicions. Regardless of what he looks like, she adores him, and he always gets a prime spot in front of the Smiths’ North Street home, where he attracts lots of attention and helps brighten up the neighborhood. Send information about holiday displays in your neighborhood to tneditor@tnonline.com and we’ll put together a map of all the displays. KAREN CIMMS/TIMES NEWS
