Navy club to dedicate plaque in Jim Thorpe

The Carbon County Navy Club will dedicate a plaque to all waterborne military at 1 p.m. Nov. 4 at Memorial Park in Jim Thorpe.

The plaque is an ongoing project that the club has been working on for the past few years, placing plaques in Summit Hill, Lansford and Nesquehoning already.

A brief ceremony will take place during the dedication before the plaque is unveiled. Speakers will include Jim Thorpe Mayor Michael Sofranko; Carbon County Veterans Affairs Director Henry Desrosiers; Col. Mark Baustin, representing the governor’s office; state Rep. Doyle Heffley; and Brad Hurley of state Sen. John Yudichak’s office.

All veterans, as well as the public are invited.
