New Jersey driver facing DUI charge

A New Jersey driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence following an incident that occurred on Nov. 12 about 3:14 a.m.

State police at Fern Ridge said Delham Rivera-Afanador, 30, of Trenton, was taken into custody following an investigation of his disabled vehicle in the left travel lane of the northeast extension of the turnpike in Kidder Township. Rivera-Afranador was found slumped over the wheel of the vehicle. Troopers detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person and he showed signs of impairment.

He was placed under arrest and taken to the barracks for a breath test. Charges were filed.
