State police at Lehighton said Bogdan Galay, 27, of Trenton, is facing charges of aggravated and simple assault, harassment, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Troopers said Galay physically attacked a 22-year-old woman in the area of Woods Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, at 3:34 a.m. While being taken into custody he kicked a trooper in the groin area and also kicked a Palmerton EMT worker.

Galay was arraigned on the charges and committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning after failing to post bail.
