New Ringgold man sentenced in assault, arson case
A former New Ringgold man will spend up to three years in state prison after conceding police had enough evidence to prove he had assaulted his girlfriend and then set his house ablaze on May 12.
Theodore S. Sadorski, 55, who lived at 59 Goose Pond Road, was charged by state police at Frackville with four counts of arson, three counts of aggravated assault, two counts of risking a catastrophe, terroristic threats, failure to control a dangerous fire, simple assault, criminal mischief and three counts of recklessly endangering another person.
Sadorski pleaded no contest to arson, aggravated assault, simple assault, criminal mischief and two counts of recklessly endangering another person.
Schuylkill County Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin sentenced him to 15 to 36 months in state prison, filled by 12 months on probation.
Sadorski will also have to submit a DNA sample.
According to court documents, Sadorski used an ax handle to beat his girlfriend and threatened to shoot her.
When police arrived, they noticed smoke coming from the roof and a fire inside. They extinguished the flames, and Sadorski later told them he had splashed gasoline to start the fire.
