New Year’s hike planned at Beltzville

The Friends of Beltzville State Park will hike to the tower of Beltzville Dam on Jan. 1 to celebrate the new year.

The 3.25-mile “First Day Hike” is free and open to the public.

The group will meet at the Environmental Interpretive Center (2950 Pohopoco Drive, Lehighton). The hike begins at 2 p.m.

Hikers of all ages are welcome. Water and warm, comfortable footwear are recommended.

Refreshments will be available for sale at the EIC.
