No. 9 Mine and Museum looking for tour guides

No. 9 Mine and Museum is looking for part time tour guides to finish the remainder of the tour season.

The mine is only open Wednesday through Sunday from April through November. The museum is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and mine tours are given every hour from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

“It’s definitely an odd job, which can be difficult because of the times, but it’s worthwhile,” Zachary Petroski, president of the No. 9 Mine and Museum, said.

As the mine expands with more events and bigger tours, more guides are needed.

Job includes operating the mine train to transport visitors inside the coal mine and conduct hourlong tours.

Knowledge on mining or historical history is a plus.
