Published January 31. 2020 08:30AM

No one was injured during a crash Wednesday night in Ross Township.

State police at Stroudsburg said the incident occurred at 7 p.m. on Route 33 North at mile marker 19.5, Monroe County, when a 2004 Chevrolet Cobalt operated by Michael Montafia, 29, of Carbondale, was traveling north on 33 in the right lane while a 2019 Nissan Rogue driven by Carmen Sattar, 62, of Kunkletown, was traveling behind it also in the right lane.

The Cobalt was following the vehicle in front of it too closely, and when the vehicle in front of the Cobalt was slowing down, the Cobalt swerved to the right side of the roadway to avoid striking the vehicle.

The Cobalt then traveled up the embankment on the right side of the roadway and rolled over an unknown amount of times.

The Rogue then swerved to the right side of the roadway to avoid striking the Cobalt and struck the embankment on the right side of the roadway.

The Cobalt suffered disabling damage as a result of the crash, while the Rogue suffered minor damage.

No injuries were sustained during the crash, as both drivers were wearing their seat belts.

Both vehicles were towed by Carl’s Towing.
