Meet the Teacher Night
On Wednesday, Aug. 22, from 6:30-8 p.m., Northern Lehigh School District's first- and second-grade students and their parents are invited to visit Peters Elementary School, 4055 Friedens Road, Slatington.
This is an extremely important evening when teachers will introduce the curriculum and discuss the class schedule. Meet the Teacher Night provides an opportunity for parents and children to meet the child's teacher and to visit the environment students will be involved in on a daily basis.
Meet the Teacher Night will observe the following schedule: 6:30-7:15 p.m., first grade; 7:15-8 p.m., second grade; 6:30-8 p.m., visit with PTO officers and representatives who will be available in the cafeteria, making it convenient to join Parent/Teacher Organization.
In early August, students who are registered in first or second grade will receive an invitation which will indicate the child's teacher and his/her room number. Students who are new to the district should be registered as soon as possible in order to receive an invitation.
Northern Lehigh School District's first day of school is Monday, Aug. 27. Students may arrive at Peters between 8:50-9:05 a.m. Dismissal begins with parent pick-up at 3:20 p.m., followed by bus dismissal.

Slatington Lions Club
The Slatington Lions Club will hold a board meeting at the Skeet Club at 7 p.m. Aug. 15.
