Project continues
The Jim Thorpe Lions Club has received many donations to support the ongoing replacement of American flags around the borough. Donations are still being accepted to help fund the project and ensure the purchase of new flags and the proper replacement of old flags. Halloween parade
has a new date
The 18th Annual Jim Thorpe Halloween Parade is moving to a new day: Saturday. This year's parade will kick off from Jim Thorpe Area High School at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. Registration is now open for the free parade and all are welcome, including local business, clubs and organizations. Deadline to register is Oct. 1. Bible study group
The Women's Ecumenical Bible study group will be meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26. They will gather in the Good Shepherd room of St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue. Mrs. Joan DeAcetis will be the instructor.
